With hundreds of successful animal care clinics thriving in PetSmart locations throughout the U.S., Banfield Pet Hospitals (a member of the Mars family of businesses) was ready to launch a new growth initiative.

KRS was tasked with envisioning and realizing a design for the brand’s expansion to freestanding offices. Our bright, modern design, from the front lobby to the reception area to hospital rooms, celebrates the Banfield vision of providing human-quality medicine to pet owners.

The bold colors, vibrant focal points, and joyful imagery of the space set the mood. Reception is open and flows to the waiting and refreshments, allowing for personal space with one’s pet and inviting communication with staff. Light fills and brightens, while slatted window elements ensure patients’ privacy. In pristine clinic rooms the tone shifts to an austere interpretation.

The journey is intuitive and familiar. Grand images of happy pets and sculptural elements frame the clean, uncluttered space. This layout allows personal space with one’s pet and invites communication with staff.

Concept to Reality

Through beautiful materials, clean space, modern furnishings, and theatrical lighting, KRS created a gorgeous, welcoming environment that is just what the doctor ordered for four-legged friends and their people. With Banfield expanding to hundreds of freestanding offices, this was an opportunity to raise the bar of what a pet hospital could be.
